Less than 8% of Canadian beef qualifies as Prime—the highest grade for marbling, tenderness, and flavor. That’s the bar we set for ourselves, and the quality we consistently meet.
Our base cow herd is an Angus–Hereford cross, known as Black Baldies, producing well-finished, prime-quality beef. A portion of those Black Baldy cows are bred with Wagyu bulls, creating beautifully marbled Wagyu.
It’s not luck—it’s genetics, good feed, and slow, careful finishing. Because if it’s not Prime, it’s not our standard.North Country is our family farm near Mayerthorpe, AB, and a local retail market in Whitecourt, AB.
